Pro Tips
Home health is a rewarding field where you have the opportunity to make a measurable difference in the lives of your patients. But it comes with some unique risks. While a hospital is a controlled environment, a patient home isn't. And the truth is, we often don't know what we might be walking into. We are looking for what the mess might be hiding. Drugs or drug paraphernalia, weapons, slip or trip hazards, bugs...
And what about those living in the home. Patients are typically kind and appreciative. But they are also people. And people are unpredictable.
We'd love to hear how you keep yourself safe out there. If you were talking to a new clinician, what would your pro tip be?
